In the period from 1990 to 2005, Rene de Rooze's work was characterized by a constructive approach to the drawing. Architectural forms, which sometimes referred to construction drawings and floor plans, were placed in an empty space. The circular segments in his work began to float in an indefinable space created with lignite and charcoal, evoking an enigmatic and mystical atmosphere. These images evoke associations with galaxies, a theme that recurs frequently in De Rooze's work. The title "Galaxis" explicitly refers to these cosmic associations.

To give the shapes more depth and substance, De Rooze used white Indian ink and gold paint. This brought visual clarity and a sense of elegance to the works. For the precise delineation of the shapes, he used a compass that could reach up to 80 cm radius, combined with ink writing utensils. This technique underscores his attention to detail and his commitment to a careful and precise elaboration of his creative vision.
